So yesterday I finished the classroom and confined water diving!
Basically the morning was dedicated to rushing through all the tests within the book and making sure we were good on all that. Next we took a quick test that I aced fairly well. Four parts, 100%, 80%, 90%, 100%. nice. Next up was probably two hours of indoor pool diving. Best part was being able to clear my mask like second nature. Clearing the mask is just taking air from the tank and blowing it out through your nose to push water out of your mask. I had a lot of that because of the mustache! Also equalizing the air in my ears came a lot easier then it had when I did the discover scuba in Korea. WORSE parts were having to breath without the mask on. I can not for the life of me keep water out of my nose, so i had to position myself perfect to keep any air from escaping my nose. After breathing without the mask you had to fit the mask back on and blow air out your nose to fill the mask with air... ouf.
Lunch break after the diving
Then a final exam which I aced with a 96%. So back in the pool! There were two more hours where we ascended while buddy breathing, hovering at the bottom of the pool, and a few other things. My favorite thing to practice was breathing with the take turned off. The teacher would turn my tank off while at the bottom of the pool and you could watch your air take drop as you took maybe two or three breaths before it was 0. Then he'd turn the tank back on. But you could feel the resistance as you tried to suck on the air. It was pretty interesting to know what it felt like just in case it happened while diving. So I'm done with that!
Next up is taking four open water dives. So hopefully while in Antigua I can do a two dive a day, two day thing that will finish the certification and I can get my fancy PADI certification card!
yey.
